The 13th Warrior, a film starring Antonio Bandares, has gotten many poor reviews. However, I feel that it is an excellent film for anyone to watch after reading Joseph Campbell’s, The Hero With A Thousand Faces. This film tells the hero journey in a simple way, as Antonio descends into the caverns, battles bear people, and emerges in typical hero fashion. In one brilliant scene you’ll see the best depiction on film of somebody learning a foreign language.
