Joseph Campbell & Marija Gimbutas Library

The Joseph Campbell & Marija Gimbutas Library is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to the preservation of a unique collection of books, manuscripts, and memorabilia from esteemed cultural scholars of this century: mythologist Joseph Campbell, archaeologist and archaeomythologist Marija Gimbutas, psychologist James Hillman, and others.
Joseph Campbell’s Book Collection consists of nearly 3,000 volumes in fields of anthroplogy, literature, the arts, philosophy, religion, and mythology. Some are rare and many are inscribed with Campbell’s marginalia. A catalog is available on the Internet.
Students at the Pacifica Graduate Institute may ask at the Graduate Research Library if they would like to use the Joseph Campbell & Marija Gimbutas Library.
For those not affiliated with Pacifica, the Library is available by appointment to researchers and scholars interested in Depth Psychology and Mythological Studies. Such persons should make make an appointment with the Special Collections Librarian
