This contemporary novel explores mythological sources for many of the spiritual problems now errupting in the Middle East. It is an action story, whereby a journalist, the protagonist, joins forces with a Jungian Analyst, the helper, to search out the causes of religious fanatics in Jerusalem. Set in 1992, the action plays out within the backdrop of the ongoing Palestinian–Isreali Conflict during the first Intifada. This novel succesfully blends contemporary political conflict with myth, and it has at its core the archetype of Western–Greek/Judea/Christian belief systems.
