Brothers Charley and Vlas Parlapanides, creators of the Netflix series The Blood of Zeus, have cited Joseph Campbell and the Hero’s Journey as having an inspirational presence in the show. “We always said, ‘This is very Joseph Campbell,’ and Lucas borrowed heavily from Greek mythology, and when we were influenced by ‘Star Wars’ and we’re pulling it back into Greek mythology,” said Charley Parlapanides. “It’s all kind of coming full circle.” The Parlapanides brothers have outlined a five-season arc for the story what echos the monomyth.
